1. Who we are
CYCODERS is the official tech community of Adamas University. This website (cycoders.in) is operated by the CYCODERS team for the purpose of sharing information, events, and providing a member dashboard for registered students.
2. What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform:
- Registration data — your name, university email, roll number, year, department, and phone number when you fill the Join Us form.
- Account credentials — a hashed password or your Google OAuth token if you set up a dashboard account.
- Profile information — bio, GitHub handle, and profile photo you choose to add.
- Activity data — attendance records, badges, crowns, and points earned through club participation.
- Usage analytics — anonymous page-view data collected by Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights (no cookies, no personal identifiers).
3. Cookies
We use a single session cookie:
- dashboard_session — an HttpOnly, Secure JWT cookie that keeps you signed in to your member dashboard for 7 days. It contains no personal data beyond your user ID.
This is a strictly necessary cookie. No tracking, advertising, or third-party cookies are set.
4. How we use your data
- To manage your club membership and dashboard account.
- To track and display your participation, points, and badges.
- To communicate important club announcements (via email, if applicable).
- To improve the website using aggregated, anonymous analytics.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.
5. Data storage & security
Your data is stored in a Neon Postgres database hosted on secure cloud infrastructure. Passwords are stored as salted hashes and are never readable in plain text. File uploads (profile photos, certificates) are stored on Cloudflare R2.
6. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
